We are, as a committee all trying to think of when we may get a moment on the day of Buckham Fair, to go and sample the food that will be on offer.
We spent a few moments trying to piece together who of us, ate what, at last years fair. I do remember the shreds of a burger being handed to me by a daughter as she jumped on her pony and sped off to win more rosettes, wasn't any left when she trotted up to me rosette in hand 10 minutes later. Life's all about choices!
When we finally had time to walk over to the Food Court at the end of the day, every crumb of food had been eaten. Not a slice of pizza, not a pancake, not a burger to be had . It was a time for mixed emotions. The thrill of knowing that the food had been a success, the despair of knowing that it was toast for tea.
Anyway, that was pretty much the story for all of us.
BUT, we are older and wiser this year and we are all booked in for breakfast with a lovely newcomer to our food court, 'Bringing Home The Bacon ', sausages, bacon and eggs, all produced on their farm and driven over to Buckham Fair Pony and Dog Show for us all to munch on.
We have such an incredibly delicious array of food on offer this year and plenty of it. We hope that everyone will not only come and eat lunch between rides on the Helter Skelter and watching one of our numerous ' spectacles ' but also stay and have supper whilst watching the lights of Beaminster, Bridport and possibly, Portland or Lyme Regis fan out below you and the sun setting over the sea.
We are staying open until 9pm this year, so take a seat on the Ferris Wheel and enjoy the view ( of me queueing for a pancake ).
More food news in my next blog. Am I becoming obsessive about it?

Ta da
We are now very busy pulling everything together and are happily distributing our Pony and Dog Show Schedules. These are in lots of places now and include the booking in forms for your ponies and your doggies!
Some events at the fair; We are all rather excited and intrigued to see Richard Curtis K9 Freestyle Display. Richar Curtis is an international Champion and twice Crufts winner at this discipline. Now you all want to know what it means don't you? Well, Martin explains it well to the uninitiated as 'doggie dancing'. However, it is alot more technical than that. It is the canine equivalent to Dressage. So, it involves dogs performing various movements accompanied by music. I will be found ringside for that performance.
We will of course be awaiting the arrival later in the afternoon of vintage cars and very flashy, accessorised to the max, scooters driven to Buckham Fair from Weymouth and beyond.

My second blog - such fun !
This year Buckham Fair is , whilst retaining it's Country Fair/Family day out spirit, going to be even more fun than last year.
Everything is a learning curve and as a committee we are nothing if not open to new ideas for embellishing and evolving the format of the Fair. For example, this year we are planning to keep the fun fair and food court open until 9pm. Therefore we are planning activities that will span the the whole of the day and into the evening.
We are working hard on the schedule to encompass all that will be on offer and fit it in time-wise and arena-wise
We are happy to announce that there will be a Heavy Horse display and included in that you will hopefully catch a glimpse of Martin's newest babies, Ronnie and Bruce, the Clydesdales Horses, 1 last week and towering over him already!

My first blog!
Welcome to my very first ever blog!!!!Join me on my voyage through blogging for beginners, whilst learning all about how things are evolving in the run up to this year's Buckham Fair.
Like our Helter Skelter there may be a few unexpected twists and turns.... but, never a dull moment.
